About

Objectives of Computer Basics Blog is to serve the interest of the 50plus who have bought the computer/laptop or iPad/tablet or iPhone/smartphone and do not really know how to use them properly. Information Technology (IT), the digital divide, is ever changing and to keep pace with it, it is a Lifelong Learning.

How to take part in IT Discussions/Talks/Courses
1) Visit this Blog: https://itforseniors.blogspot.sg and be a "Follower".
2) Or just email me at hewlee@gmail.com for more information.
You can also visit the National Library Board via www.nlb.gov.sg for information on the Computer Courses they conduct at Woodlands Regional Library (NLB’s Silver Infocomm Junction) for the 50plus. When you have the NLB’s main page, find the word “Programmes” – click on it and then click the word “For Seniors”.
Currently, I do conduct an IT class lesson/discussion on a monthly basis with changing topic of interests. It is on the second Saturday of the Month, 3PM to 5PM at Bukit Merah Library, Level 3. (Take MRT to Tiong Bahru Station, turn right and up escalator. At the Bus Stop (10161), take Bus Numbers 5 or 16 or 851 to end, the Bukit Merah Bus Interchange). From there it is just about 5 minutes walk to the Bukit Merah Library. Ask for direction.
Computer Basics is for the young and old who wish to take this site as a forum to share IT (Information Technology) & Photography skills. These include, but not be limited to, iPhones, iPads, smart phones, tablets, general computer skills and how to take good pictures & make movies to share.
IT and Photography are not my professions. I am only interested, take it as a hobby and spending a few hours in the library or on the Internet each day. I was appointed as a Silver Infocomm Wellness Ambassador (SIWA) in 2013. Currently I am focusing my time on enhancing my skills on digital video editing and burning the movies into DVDs that not only can play on the computer, but also on any standard DVD players.
